Latex slide agglutination test kits for the direct qualitative detection of antigens to H. influenzae type b, S. pneumoniae, Group B Streptococcus, and N. meningitidis groups A, C, Y and W135 in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), serum, urine, or blood culture media. Each kit also provides rapid confirmation and serogrouping capabilities from suspected colonies of H. influenzae type b, S. pneumoniae, Group B Streptococcus, and N. meningitidis groups A, C, Y, and W135. The combo test kit 90003-462 includes tests for H. influenzae, S. pneumoniae, and N. meningitidis as well as tests for Group B Streptococcus, N. meningitidis Group B, and E. coli K1. Visible agglutination occurs when body fluids or blood culture supernatant containing any of these bacterial antigens is reacted with its respective antibody-coated latex beads.

All kits contain latex reagents and positive and negative patient controls to assist in compliance with CLIA ’88 and other regulatory requirements. Unless otherwise noted, sufficient reagent is provided for 90 determinations (minimum 30 patient tests).
