Vacuum ovens are ideal for drying all thermolabile substances, powders, and pastes, as well as for materials that contain solvents. These ovens feature unique APT.Line* preheating chamber technology, which is engineered to ensure that all temperature-related tasks such as heating, drying, and sterilizing are conducted exactly the same each time, reliably and quickly. The inner chamber is made of electropolished Type 316 stainless steel and has rounded edges and internally welded seams for easy cleaning. The interior is completely tempered, which prevents condensation and ensures that moisture deposits will not impair drying results. The preheating chamber allows all connecting tubes to the inner chamber to be subjected to the heating process, reducing the risk of condensation in the inner chamber. High-quality insulation reduces heat dissipation, which contributes to an active reduction in ambient temperature and helps avoid the need for additional air conditioning in the lab.
The two-point door lock and high-quality silicone gasket ensure tight closure of the chamber door. The low external housing temperature of 50°C maximum (even at working temperatures of 250°C) means that burns are avoided. Ovens feature pressure-resistant construction and a spring-mounted VDE-tested safety glass panel with splinter protection from explosion or implosion. The aluminum shelves offer excellent thermal connection to the chamber walls, defined and reproducible temperature conditions for all samples, and safe direct temperature transfer without electrical ignition sources in the inner chamber. The removable rack holders, vacuum connections, and valves are made of Type 316 stainless steel.
The microprocessor controller with LED display and LCD screen allows easy programming of individual temperature profiles and advanced applications for reproducible drying processes. Calibration can be easily performed using the clearly understandable function keys. All ovens feature an RS-232 port, inert gas connection with fine-dosing aeration valve, analog manometer, and integral measuring gauge. The integral thermostat is rated Class 2, according to DIN 12880, Part 1. The inert gas connection features cross-flow technology, which guarantees complete flushing through the inner chamber, and provides particularly even drying and shorter drying times.
The VDL series ovens are ideal for drying potentially explosive substances that contain solvents. The pressure-encapsulated instrument box, preheating chamber, and associated heating elements that use compressed air prevent solvent vapors from entering the electrical zone. In case of a pressure reduction in the instrument box, the unit undergoes an all-polarity disconnect to safely avoid ignition sources. An additional flame protection gasket reliably extinguishes explosion flames and prevents them from spreading to the vicinity of the unit. In addition, VDL series ovens can be enhanced with optional equipment such as an explosion-proof chemical-membrane pump and differential pressure switch for controlling oven pressure.
