Biological activity: supports survival of rat basal forebrain primary septal cultured neurons. Induces choline acetyltransferase (EC₅₀= 50 ng/ml). Purity: �97% by SDS-PAGE. Reconstitute in sterile distilled H₂O or aqueous buffers. The recommended concentration of BDNF stock solution is 1 mg/100 ml. For more dilute samples, add a stabilizing protein such as BSA (100 mg/ml). Avoid freeze/thaw cycles of solutions.
