Functions as either a precision laboratory rate meter or as a single-channel area monitor. This auto-ranging unit features a variable setpoint alarm function and probe saturation detection that includes an LED alert. Large, analog meter can be set for “Peak Hold” or “Integrate”. Housing is heavy-duty aluminum with polyurethane finish for resistance to moisture and corrosion.

For precision metering, the unit is compatible with most standard end-window, pancake, and low-energy scintillation probes via BNC connection. The end-window probe and the pancake probe measure alpha, beta, and gamma radiation; the pancake probe offers greater sensitivity to ¹⁴C, ³²P, ³⁵S, and ¹³⁷Cs. The low-energy gamma scintillation probe measures gamma radiation and is extremely sensitive to ¹²⁵I. (Johnson RML-200)
