Use to concentrate and desalt proteins, DNA and RNA; buffer exchange or remove salt from chromatography eluates and gradient fractions; recover proteins or other molecules from cell culture supernatants; clarify tissue homogenates; concentrate viruses; or wash and concentrate latex suspensions. Concentrates 15mL sample volumes to 0.5mL in 30-60 minutes. Recoveries typically >90%. Built-in deadstop prevents spinning to dryness. Heat-sealing technology prevents bypass. Polypropylene housing. Low protein-binding Omega* (modified polyethersulfone) membrane is available in a variety of MWCOs. Color-coded for easy identification.
Nonsterile. May be sanitized by filtering 70% ethanol through the device prior to use. Requires a fixed-angle or swinging bucket rotor that accepts 50mL tubes, and is capable of up to 5000g.
