Kits include all the components needed for specimen collection, smear preparation, fixation, and courier transport to the laboratory. They provide excellent structural support for the specimen slide and adhesive-free slide attachment allowing it to be easily removed from the folder. Kits contain various combinations of one or two slides, cervex brushes, wood scrapers, cytology brushes, cotton swabs, and fixative sprays and pouches. Cervex brushes collect all essential cells for tracing the early stages of cervical cancer. The bristles collect endo-, ectocervical, and T-zone cells. The soft, flexible bristles reduce the risk of injury during examination. Cytology brushes allow for collection of endocervical, Chlamydia, and HPV cells, and reduce the chances of false negative specimens. Sprays and pouches contain a non-aerosol fixative made of a water and alcohol soluble polyethylene glycol formulation used for affixing clinical specimens. A tough thin film forms to maximize cell preservation and ensure an optimum staining environment. Fixative is available in spray pump bottles or single-use foil pouch pack.
