For heavy-duty and industrial use. The 22.9cm (9") square, cast-iron top plate can be used to heat metal vessels. The corrosion-resistant stainless steel body is formed in two sections separated by an insulating plate that minimizes heat transfer in the bottom section. Ventilating air channels beneath and on all four sides of the heating plate insulate the control switch and supporting table against heat.

Temperature is regulated by a four-position switch providing low, medium low, medium, and high settings. Temperature stability of top plate is ±2°C (±3.6°F). The heating element is nickel-chromium alloy embedded in refractory plate.
