This compact unit occupies only 11.4x16.5cm (4¹/₂x6¹/₂") of bench space. The digital system features a built-in temperature display, microprocessor-controlled temperature ramping, and rapid fan cooling.

Glass capillaries with an outside diameter of 1.5-1.85mm (¹/₂₀-¹/₁₄") and length of 100mm (4") allow simultaneous determination of three samples. High-tolerance capillary holes and special precision capillaries result in more sharply defined melting range determinations. Precision-machined, aluminum construction provides a uniform block for reduced temperature gradients, eliminating the hazards and mess associated with oil baths. Temporary memory can store and recall two values for later use.

Temperature is sensed by a platinum RTD. Temperature display is easily calibrated without tools, using a melting point standard. A high-speed fan quickly cools the unit back to a selected temperature. Audio-visual alarm indicates when oven temperature is stable.

Sample observation is enhanced by an integrated light and precision 6x lens. Soft rubber eyecup eliminates ambient light glare.

Conforms to U.S. Pharmacopeia requirements. Unit is CE marked and CSA approved.
