Made of FEP (fluorinated ethylene polymer), these sterile catheters have a thin wall tapered tip design that results in a smooth insertion and optimal flow rates. The unique BD Autoguard system features an activation button mechanism that holds the needle assembly in the forward position until the user activates the device. Pressing the button releases the spring and allows the needle and flash chamber to instantly retract into the safety barrel reducing the risk of accidental needle-stick injuries.
