Ponceau S Solution is used for the detection of proteins on PVDF and nitrocellulose membranes. This staining is reversible to allow further immunological detection. The limit of detection for this stain is about 250 ng of transferred protein. The solution contains 0.1% Ponceau S and 5% acetic acid.
