The Rotavapor R-II rotary evaporator series is designed to fulfill the fundamental needs of laboratory applications in teaching and research. Utilizing vacuum distillation to ensure uniform thermal separations, these evaporators offer gentle, quick, and economical separation procedures. The rotating flask produces very effective heat transfer while ensuring thorough mixing and avoiding local overheating of contents.
All units feature a small footprint and a robust design in powder-coated aluminum. A continuous vapor duct and PTFE vacuum seal provide secure sealing and a long service life. Flasks are easily assembled or dismantled through the use of a simple combi-clip device. To further ensure quick and simple operation, a quick-action jack allows users to raise and lower the flasks manually. The small volume heating bath offers a temperature range of 20 to 95°C (68 to 203°F). The small volume ensures quick heating to setpoint, and the stainless steel pan is easy to clean. A quick-release electrical connection makes the bath unit simple to remove. Units are available with a P+G plastic coating on all glass components (except evaporating flask). This protects against mechanical damage and the danger of glass splinters.
Evaporators are available with one of three glass condenser assemblies. Diagonal condensers are designed for standard distillations and allow operation in areas with limited space or height. Vertical condensers require more overhead space and are also designed for standard distillations. Dry ice condensers are used for distilling solvents with low boiling points. No cooling water is necessary when using dry ice condensers. All condensers may be fitted with an optional tap for continuous feeding.
