These large-scale evaporators are designed for rapid, efficient evaporation of sample volumes up to 20L. The broad operating temperature range permits a wide range of applications, such as distillation, stripping down dissolved or suspended products, removing solvents, drying powders, performing reflux reactions, recrystallizing contaminated products, cleaning contaminated solvents, and synthesizing and refining fine chemicals.
Evaporators feature a stainless steel chassis, compact housing, inert system mode with borosilicate glass and PTFE, a large diameter high-performance continuous-feed mechanism for product introduction, an abrasion-free sealing system, and a high degree of functional safety. Safety features include dual over-temperature cut-off devices, manually adjustable maximum temperature control, a protection mechanism that immediately shuts off rotational movement if problems occur, contact protection for the oil/water bath, and a PLASTIC+GLAS coating on glass parts to protect against breakage. In addition, the bath is automatically switched off and lowered in the event of a power failure. A continuous feed option maintains a constant level in the heating bath.
An innovative snap flange coupling allows even large-volume glass flask to be mounted and removed unaided and with minimal effort. One heating bath may be used for either water or oil. The completely inert shut-off tap can be opened or closed with just a single movement of the hand without damaging the glass. The EasyClamp coupling enables fast, easy, and reliable construction of the various glassware assemblies.
Glassware assembly options include reflux, descending, descending with two condensers, Bullfrog condensers, and fractionating. The reflux assembly is ideally suited to reflux reaction and for distilling high-boiling solvents such as toluene or water. The descending glass assembly is especially suitable for distillation of solvents having a low heat of evaporation, solvent recovery, or products that foam. Select the descending assembly with two condensers when the best condensation and highest recovery rates are demanded. The Bullfrog condenser is designed for use in fume cupboards with restricted height. The fractionating assembly is used to separate vaporized mixtures of liquid compounds with close volatilities.
