Nucleic acid sequencers are adjustable to accommodate plates with path lengths from 22cm (8²¹/₃₂") up to the maximum length of the unit. Available in two widths for either the Sanger-Coulson (20cm; 7⁷/₈") or Maxam-Gilbert (33cm; 13") sequencing method.

The upper buffer reservoir rides on three 2.5cm (1") diameter Delrin* plastic rods and is secured at the desired height by three stainless steel thumbscrews. These rods are arranged in a triangular configuration on a 1.3cm (¹/₂") thick acrylic base to add strength to the system. Both upper and lower reservoirs have drains with tubing adapters and safety covers with attached leads. Reservoirs are detachable for easy disposal of radioactive buffer solutions. Units can be easily disassembled into components for compact storage.
