Adapters are available in two bottom configuations and four top configurations. Adapters with ST ground joint bottom connect to vials and flasks with ST outer joints. Adapters with threaded bottoms have a 20-400 GPI thread for connection to vials (using a threaded connector) and a sealed-in drip tube to prevent breakage.

Adapters with outer luer joint bottom connect solid phase extraction (SPE) cartridges, tubes or syringes to a ST inner joint, allowing for easy sample concentration and simple clean-up, while reducing possibility of cross-contamination. Adapters 89049-144 and -146 have a 2mm PTFE stopcock between the outer and inner joints to control vacuum source. Adapters with heavy duty tooled flare top are for reduced pressure filtration with plain stem buchner funnels, and accept pluro stopppers (not included). Adapter 89049-156 has a 20-400 GPI threaded top for transfer from vial to vial.
