Models 1080 and 1085 consist of a cell and a friction-fitting sleeve for securing and enveloping a thin-film sample support. These sample cups are designed to eliminate the need for trimming extraneous thin-film sample support material, and are intended for x-ray instrumentation with automatic multi-sample changers. Model 1080 has a double open-ended cell, allowing attachment of thin-film sample supports prior to sample introduction, and offers top sample loading. Model 1085 has a single open-ended cell, incorporating an overflow reservoir and a provision for venting.

Model 1850 is a single open-ended cell with an overflow reservoir and thermoplastically sealed depression that can be punctured for venting. A snap-on ring firmly secures the thin-film to the cell.
