Sound level meter features three decibel ranges for greater precision: low (30-80dB), medium (50-100dB), and high (80-130dB). Resolution is 0.1dB and accuracy is ±2dB. The meter provides weightings for both A (frequencies for 500 to 10kHz) and C (frequencies from 30 to 10kHz) to meet IEC 651 Type-2 standards.

The response time on the meter may be set to fast (0.2 seconds) or slow (1.5 seconds). A memory data-hold function stores the highest reading achieved for later display. Meter uses a 1.3cm (¹/₂") condenser microphone, and a recorder jack captures readings (AC and DC 10mV/dB).

A serial numbered certificate is provided from an ISO 17025 calibration laboratory to indicate instrument traceability to standards provided by the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
