These nonsterile polycarbonate microplates, designed for PCR, fit most commonly-used thermal cyclers. With ultra-thin walls for efficient heat transfer, they reduce cycling time and enhance thermal cycler performance. The plates are thermally stable up to 135°C (275°F). For oil-free operation, plates must be used with sealing tape or a sealing mat, and in conjunction with thermal cyclers with heated lids.

Aluminum sealing tape is recommended for applications requiring puncturing and hot starts on thermal cyclers. Can be removed easily without ripping or tearing. Sealing tape prevents evaporation and enables oil-free operation when used with thermal cyclers with heated lids. Aluminum tape is for use from -80 to 150°C (-112 to 302°F) and is pierceable and not transparent. Universal optical sealing tape is pressure-sensitive and seals 96- and 384-well microplates, PCR plates, and tube strips. Features high optical quality for real-time PCR. Compatible with aqueous solutions and organic solvents, the universal tape has a temperature range of -70 to 100°C (-94 to 212°F). All sealing tape is nonsterile.

Thermowell silicone rubber sealing mats are easily applied and removed, fully autoclavable, and reusable at least five times. They provide 100% sealing when used in conjunction with clamp- or screw-down, heated-lid thermal cyclers. Mats can be used for applications such as hot starts on thermal cyclers.

Polystyrene holder 29442-282 accommodates Model P plates and flat-bottom strips such as EIA/RIA 8-well strips.

Lids for Model M (29442-336) are made of polycarbonate and do not prevent evaporation. These lids are thermally stable up to 135°C (275°F).
