Red solid. PROTECT FROM LIGHT. PACKAGED UNDER INERT GAS. A potent inhibitor of Cdk1 (IC50 = 5 nM) and Cdk5 (IC50 = 7 nM) that also inhibits glycogen synthase kinase-3b (GSK-3b; IC50 = 80 nM). Similar to its binding to Cdks, the indirubin derivative binds to GSK-3b’s ATP-binding pocket. GSK-3b, along with Cdk5, is responsible for most of the abnormal hyperphosphorylation of the microtubule-binding protein tau observed in Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Purity: ³97% by HPLC.
