A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the oxicam family which preferentially inhibits the inducible isoform of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2; IC₅₀ = 4.7 mM) relative to cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1; IC₅₀ = 36.6 mM).
