These columns provide alternative selectivity to C18 columns with a unique perfluorinated stationary phase. They are equivalent to Thermo Scientific Hypersil* Gold PFP columns. They provide improvements in speed of analysis, peak shape and sensitivity over other fluorinated phases. These columns are particularly useful when analyzing difficult to resolve mixtures of halogenated and/or polar compounds. They extend the range of selectivities that are available in reversed phase chromatography. This phase is especially suited for the selective analysis of fluorinated and other halogenated compounds, or non-halogenated compounds containing hydroxyl, carboxyl, nitro, or other polar groups. Introduction of perfluorinated phenyl group into the stationary phase causes changes in solute-stationary phase interaction, providing for improved selectivity and extra retention.
