These cheesecloth wipes have an ideal absorbent surface for applying a uniform, thin film of gum arabic to an offset plate. Gum arabic, an acidic water-soluble gum from the acacia tree, adheres to the metal surface or plate and protects the non-image areas from oxidation, scratches, grease, and dirt. These cheesecloth wipes are excellent for buffing gummed plates to a dry, smooth, and streak-free finish with no linting or residue. They properly desensitize plates to ensure the best possible performance.

The wipes also prevent scratching or scuffing of the image area. They allow for quick roll up and increased water receptivity in the non-image areas, reducing scumming and halftone plugging and requiring less water, particularly at startup.

Economy-cut rolls 21910-118, -121 have 120 4-ply pieces per roll. Handi-fold bolts 21910-127, -124, and -130 are continuous Z-folded stacks with approximately 45.7cm (18") between each fold.
