Kits have been designed so that the concentrated proteins are ready for most downstream applications. UPPA-PROTEIN-Concentrate* uses a Universal Protein Precipitation Agent (UPPA*) to concentrate solutions as dilute as 1ng/mL. The concentration is not affected by the presences of detergents, chaotropics, or other common laboratory agents. This kit allows for quantitative precipitation and concentration of protein solutions with ~100% recovery and ~50µS of conductivity. The kit contains an acidic component and may not be suitable for those proteins which may lose some of their biological activity when precipitated.

If maintaining biological activity is essential, use of OrgoSol-PROTEIN-Concentrate* kit is recommmended. This kit uses OrgoSol* buffer to precipitate proteins out of solution. The buffer is specifically designed for efficient precipitation of a protein solution with a minimal amount of disruption to the protein structure. When the protocol is correctly followed, this kit provides ~100% recovery.

The Column-PROTEIN-Concentrate* kit is designed to concentrate proteins that cannot be concentrated using precipitation or another technique. It uses a protein binding resin that binds and immobilizes any protein in a low salt buffer between pH 2 and pH 12. Once the proteins are immobilized, they are spin-eluted in an elution buffer specifically designed for efficient concentration. This method is gentle and protects the proteins from denaturation and provides ~100% recovery.
