Amersham ECL DualVue* western blotting markers monitor efficiency of protein transfer to membrane, as well as determine the blot orientation and molecular weight of target protein(s) on film or in CCD image. Contains a mixture of three prestained colored markers of defined molecular weight (15,000-100,000) and seven tagged recombinant proteins (molecular weight 15,000-150,000). The prestained markers indicate efficiency of protein transfer to membrane and blot orientation, while the tagged recombinant protein markers allow accurate calculation of molecular weight of target protein(s). Product is compatible with any HRP substrate as well as with both PVDF and nitrocellulose membrane types.

Amersham ECL western blotting molecular weight markers feature biotinylated marker proteins with defined molecular weights in the range 14,400-97,000 for molecular weight determination in Western blots. Markers, when incubated with Streptavidin-HRP, are visualized using a luminol-based, light-producing reaction generated with ECL detection reagents. The protein mix (total concentration 1mg/mL) is supplied in 50% glycerol and requires dilution in SDS-PAGE loading buffer.
