Markers are lyophilized mixtures of stable, salt-free, highly purified proteins. They may be run in parallel with the experimental samples on isoelectric focusing gels. Markers are precisely calibrated to allow permanent and accurate analysis of sample components and the pH can be measured to within 0.01-0.05 units of pH. Methyl red and Cytochrome c are both dyes. All proteins are unstained.

The broad-range kit contains 12 markers:amylglucosidase; methyl red; trypsin inhibitor; beta-lactoglobulin A; carbonic anhydrase B from both bovine and human sources; myoglobin for both acidic and basic bands; lentil lectin for acidic, middle, and basic bands; and trypsinogen.

The low-range kit contains eight markers: pepsinogen, amylgucosidase, methyl red, glucose oxidase, trypsin inhibitor, beta-lactoglobulin A, and carbonic anhydrase B from both bovine and human sources.

The high-range kit contains 10 markers: beta-lactoglobulin A; carbonic anhydrase B from both bovine and human sources; myoglobin for both acidic and basic bands; lentil lectin for acidic, middle, and basic bands; trypsinogen; and Cytochrome c.

Note: Kits are not for use in denaturing (urea) systems.
