These sterile, pyrogen-free filters are constructed with two layers of polyethersulfone (PES) microporous membrane that is inherently hydrophilic, low in extractables and protein binding, and biosafe. The two layers of membrane have retentions of 0.1µm for microplasma, 0.2µm for bacteria removal, 0.45µm for most general applications, and 1µm for difficult and viscous solutions.

The filters feature a vent to evacuate any air for the fastest filtration, radiation sterilization to ensure no ETO residue contamination, and positive pressure filtration to eliminate protein denaturation.

The effective filtration areas are: 550cm² for Polycap 36 filters, 1100cm² for Polycap 75 filters, and 2200cm² for Polycap 150 filters.
