This positive displacement syringe, for use with liquids, has a tungsten plunger wire that travels inside the needle. The needle acts as the syringe barrel.

This point style is used on specific HPLC syringes, such as Rheodyne* syringes. The needle is cut at a 90° bevel and is also useful for pipetting liquids.

The syringes incorporate a removable stainless steel needle. Needles have a small bore. A needle with a small bore carries less dead volume than a standard bore needle, and the thicker wall can be an advantage in piercing septa. Syringe 60375-023 has an extra-long needle for on-column injectors.
