This lightweight, ergonomically designed Digital Syringe features an easy-to-read LCD screen, which displays volume in microliters within ±0.5% of the full-scale of the syringe. The volume display shows current syringe volume (aspirated or dispensed), the series display shows syringe series in use, and the size display allows selection of syringe volumes from 0.5 to 500µL. Datahold feature allows recording of aspirated or dispensed volumes. Zero button activates the zero setting in the volume mode. A “floating” or mid-stroke zero point allows the user to read dispensed volume on the display as a negative number, if desired.

A fine-adjustment thumbwheel allows easy dial-in of specific syringe volumes. A plunger-drag adjustment optimizes the rate of plunger movement needed for specific application. A plunger brake prevents premature dispensing of sample from the syringe. A built-in plunger stop assures repetitive, accurate volume displacements.

Syringes are available with a fixed needle, removable needle, Luer tip needle, or knurled hub. Choose from point style 2 or 3. Point style 2 is recommended for most applications requiring the puncturing of a septum. The needle is cut at a 22° bevel with the tip of the needle slightly bent, partially obstructing the orifice, to prevent septum coring. Point style 3 is used on specific HPLC syringes, such as Rheodyne* syringes. The needle is cut at a 90° bevel, and is also recommended for pipetting liquids. The “S” after the gauge denotes a small bore. A needle with a small bore carries less dead volume than a standard bore, and the thicker wall can be an advantage in piercing septa.
