This powerful, parallel overhead stirring system, used in conjunction with a 6-place carousel reaction station, is well suited for viscous samples and dispersing delicate solids or resins in low-viscosity solutions. The unique system allows the simultaneous mechanical stirring of up to six 250mL round-bottomed flasks. Reaction mixtures of up to 10,000cps at 500rpm can be stirred. The two-speed drive (1:1 and 2:1) allows lower-rated mechanical stirrers to be used for high-viscosity liquids, and speeds of up to 1000rpm are achievable in low-viscosity solutions. Tool-free pinch-grip mechanism and sealed stirrer sealing system allow easy stirrer shaft insertion and operation under an inert atmosphere.
System is designed to be used as part of a complete system with a 6-place carousel reaction station. It is compatible with the full range of carousel baffled flasks, and round-bottomed flasks from 100-250mL, with or without sidearms. The carousel 6-place reaction stations can simultaneously stir and heat up to six 50mL, 100mL, 170mL, or 250mL round-bottomed flasks. Water-cooled aluminum reflux head provides proven efficient refluxing within individual glass reflux necks. A radial gas distribution system and gas-tight PTFE caps allow air-sensitive reactions under an inert atmosphere. The reaction station is heated directly by a stirrer's hotplate and has an operating temperature range from ambient to 180°C (365°F), with a temperature accuracy of ±0.5°C (0.9°F).
