Liquid phase synthesis is ideal for chemical reactions and processes without the use of resins. These liquid phase synthesis systems allow for set-up and work-up of a classical chemical synthesis. A built-in process timer allows for unattended operation and automated temperature ramping can be programmed. A temperature sensor, positioned in the reaction vessel, provides precise temperature control and reproducible results. The systems provide a central connection and distributor for vacuum and inert atmosphere.

Synthesis 1 base units provide exceptional visual control of the reaction and easy access to all samples due to the revolving circular design of the reaction block. Units can be easily configured for many different applications. Up to 24 samples (10-50mL) can be synthesized simultaneously. Simultaneous evaporation or concentration can be performed with the optional glassware set. Solid construction ensures exceptional stability and smooth, constant shaking. Features include electronic speed control, an integrated collection tray for dripping condensate, and an RS-232 interface port.

Reaction blocks may be set to four different reaction temperatures in their four heating zones. Reaction blocks are supplied with reaction vessels and a vacuum distributor. The elastic reaction block elements ensure that the vessels will not rattle. Glass reaction vessels feature standard threads, a valve and connection for vacuum and inert atmosphere, and PTFE-coated septa. Two PTFE-coated temperature sensors are available. Sensor 89000-046 is for reaction blocks with 12 or 16 reaction vessels and is 170mm (611/16") long. Sensor 83007-312 is for reaction blocks with 24 reaction vessels and is 135mm (55/16") long. The hinged guard hood provides added safety and ensures constant sample temperature. The addition of the Synthesis 1 glassware set allows the unit to function as a multiple evaporator.
