These protein-free culture media have been metabolically designed for superior performance in high-density bioreactor applications and cost effective recombinant protein production. They provide superior growth for many key insect lines, including Sf9, Sf21, High Five*, and D.mel (2), with little adaptation. The media are formulated using a lipid and phosopholipid complexing process for enhanced stability and performance and contain 0.1% Pluronic* F-68 for superior performance. They have been tested in a variety of culture systems ranging from T-flasks, spinners, shaker flasks, and various bioreactors, including hollow-fiber bioreactors.
