Laminar flow cabinet is designed for permanent installation through an opening in the wall between a cleanroom and a dirty room that is exposed to dust and other particles present in the lab environment. Personnel on one side of the cabinet may load mice, cages, food, medications, instruments, and other supplies through the sash opening into the cabinet while the sash on the opposite side remains closed. Particulate-free, ISO Class 5 (FED-STD-209E Class 100/M3.5) HEPA-filtered air purges the contents of the cabinet during transfer and when both sides are closed. Cabinet may also be used for cage-changing applications. Cabinet is constructed of stainless steel with a glacier white, dry powder epoxy-coated exterior. Cabinet features two fully closing, 6.4mm (¹/₄") thick tempered safety glass sashes with anti-racking mechanisms and a 45.1cm (17³/₄") loading height opening.

Cabinet includes two 99.99% efficient HEPA filters to filter supply and exhaust air. Prefilters are located below the work surface to remove large particles and prolong HEPA filter life. The Contain-Air* negative pressure channel draws air in, preventing loss of containment at the top of the sash. The “clean side” of the cabinet features two Minihelic* pressure gauges to allow monitoring of differential pressure across the two HEPA filters and an airflow monitor with a three-light indicator and an audible/visual alarm. Cabinet interior features a stainless steel diffuser and removable work surface, two 25W fluorescent lights, a 254nm UV lamp, and two electrical duplexes with ground fault interruption and splash covers. Switches for the UV light, fluorescent lights, and blowers are located on both sides of the cabinet. The UV lamp automatically switches off when either sash is opened. An audible/visual alarm sounds when both sashes are open. A 20.3cm (8") I.D. outlet in the canopy allows additional filtering, if desired. Cabinet is designed to be sealed to the floor for efficient installation. A single point, top-mounted junction box allows unit to be hard-wired to an electrical source. (Labconco 3860000)
