Kits are specifically designed to achieve maximum performance and convenience in cDNA cloning. They are ideal for cloning individual cDNAs or constructing unbiased cDNA libraries and high throughput microarrays. Each kit uses transcription/translation-free pSMART* vectors for low background and high insert stability. These features allow for greater than 99.9% efficiency. The vector also incorporates the T7 promoter upstream of the cloning site to allow in vitro or in vivo transcription. It is available precut at three different combinations of insertion sites.

RN kits feature insertion sites at EcoRI+Notl. BluntN kits feature insertion sites at blunt end+Notl. Blunt kits are designed for use with blunt ends only. All vectors feature high copy numbers with kanamycin selection sensitivity.

Note: Kits with electrocompetent cells are recommended for use with Eppendorf*, Bio-Rad*, and BTX* electroporation cuvettes. They are not recommended for use with Invitrogen* electroporation cuvettes.

Ordering Information: All kits come with vector premix, CloneSmart* DNA ligase, two sequencing primers, and positive control insert DNA. The vector premix contains buffer, ATP, and the appropriate pSMART cDNA vector. Kits with cells come with E. cloni* SUPREME 10G, or ELITE 10G electrocompetent cells, or 10G chemically competent cells; recovery medium, and positive transformation control. Cells are packaged with two transformations/tube.
