These ready-to-use master mixes contain all of the necessary components to perform PCR† amplification, minus template and primers. The master mix also contains a PCR enhancer/stabilizer in a high density agarose gel loading buffer. EconoTaq PLUS GREEN 2X master mix also contains a pair of tracking dyes that aid in gel loading and monitoring of electrophoresis. A PCR reaction is established by combining the EconoTaq PLUS GREEN 2X master mix with template DNA, primers, and water. Once the reaction is complete, it can be loaded directly onto an agarose gel.

EconoTaq PLUS GREEN 2X master mix is designed for use when PCR products will be analyzed by agarose gel electrophoresis and ethidium bromide staining. EconoTaq PLUS 2X master mix is designed for use when PCR products will be analyzed by absorbance or fluorescence excitation, to avoid possible interference by the dyes.

All of the necessary reaction components are provided in the master mix. Components include 0.1unit/µL of EconoTaq DNA polymerase, reaction buffer (pH9.0), 400µM each of dATP, dTTP, dGTP, and dCTP, 3mM MgCl₂, as well as a proprietary mix of PCR enhancer/stabilizer. EconoTaq PLUS GREEN contains blue and yellow tracking dyes. The mix can be stored at -20°C (-4°F) for 12 months. For everyday use, an aliquot can be stored at 4°C (39.2°F) for up to 3 months. The master mix is stable for 10 freeze/thaw cycles.
