Tapes seal well to polypropylene, polystyrene, and polycarbonate microplates. Compatible with thermal cyclers, aqueous solutions, and organic solvents. Tapes minimize cross-well contamination and the evaporation of microplate contents over use conditions. Tapes have removable tabs and measure 7.9x14.1cm (3¹/₈x5⁹/₁₆"). Suitable for use between -70 to 100°C (-94 to 212°F). Nonsterile.

Standard tapes feature pressure-sensitive acrylate adhesive and a white paper release liner, except for 33004-012 which has a brown paper release liner. Rayon tape is white, nonwoven, and breathable. Aluminum tape is “dead soft” and easy-to-pierce. Polyolefin tape 33004-014 is transparent and has low auto-fluorescence. Polyester tape 33004-016 is transparent with optically clear properties for ease of read-through.

Advanced tapes feature clear, low tack, pressure-sensitive silicone adhesive and a white polyester release liner. Advanced polyolefin tape 33004-018 has low auto-fluorescence and superior optical properties, suitable for visual microscopic analysis. Advanced polyethylene tape is suitable for repeated piercing.
