For use as tissue embedding media.

Paraplast, made of paraffin and plastic polymers, allows clean cuts and minimizes wrinkles for clear, smooth tissue specimens. Compatible with most solvents and staining techniques. Melting point: 56°C (133°F) (ASTM).

Paraplast Plus is similar to 15159-409 except for the addition of dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO), which improves rate of tissue infiltration, making it easier to cut difficult or brittle tissues. Melting point is 56°C (133°F) (ASTM).

Made from a unique blend of low molecular weight polymers and paraffin, Paraplast X-tra has a lower infiltration temperature that eliminates tissue “cooking,” which can cause distortion. Lower viscosity permits complete infiltration, and gives exceptional ribbon continuity with flat sections free of compression distortions. Melting point: 50 to 54°C (122 to 129°F) (ASTM).

Packed in 1kg (2.2lbs.) bags of pellets.
