For flat, even banding and crisp resolution. The system can run two 10Wx10Lcm gels, or a single gel using the blocking plate. The system can accommodate 10Wx8Lcm (4x3¹/₈") gels utilizing the provided adapter. Gels can be poured or precast. The system is designed to allow gels to be easily placed into the chamber. A wedge is placed in front of the cassette to provide even pressure against the leakproof gasket and ensure that the cassette is held in the proper running position. A molded gasket provides a leak-resistant seal. The lid closes in one orientation only, ensuring that the positive and negative electrodes are not reversed. No cooling is required.

System includes an upper buffer chamber, lower buffer chamber, SuperSafe* lid with attached power supply leads, two 1.3cm (¹/₂") thick wedges, and two 1.6cm (⁵/₈") thick wedges. The two sizes of wedges are provided to accommodate varying thickness of precast gels.

The Joey* gel casting system encases the gel sandwich and acrylamide in a research-quality plastic pouch to eliminate the need for bottom spacers, tape, grease, or agarose seals. For 10Wx10Lcm (4x4") or 10Wx8Lcm (4x3¹/₈") gels. Built-in, three-point bubble leveling system ensures uniform gel fronts.
