The 50X TAE buffer is composed of 2M tris-acetate and 0.05M EDTA at pH 8.3. It is ideal for preparation of agarose gels for electrophoresis.

Loading buffers are intended to be mixed with samples containing DNA in order to facilitate loading of the samples into the wells of agarose and acrylamide gels. The 6X loading buffer is composed of 0.03% bromophenol blue, 0.03% xylene cyanol FF, 60mM EDTA at pH 7.6, and 60% glycerol in molecular biology grade water.
