This 23mL general-purpose bomb has a spring-loaded closure in a stainless steel body. Designed to be sealed by tightening the cap with a spanner wrench (listed below) instead of tightening by hand. This produces a tighter seal and permits the bomb to be used at higher temperaturesup to maximum at 250°C. It also allows higher working pressures, up to 1800 psig, such as might be generated by heating a charge containing 9mL of 36% HCI to 240°C. Additional safety protection is provided by a rupture disc built into the bomb head. At pressures in the range of 3500 psig, this double disc will blow out and release the contents of the bomb through an opening in the cover.

Spanner wrench (25227-130) and holding fixture (25227-119) are required for cap tightening, but are not included with bomb. Maximum O.D. 6.35cm, I.D. 2.64cm. Weight (empty) 1020g.
