Acrylamide gels are cast in a durable plastic cassette using a neutral pH buffer that prevents polyacrylamide breakdown and results in a long shelf life. They are individually packaged in an easy-to-open plastic pouch and have no comb or tape to remove. Gels are compatible with Laemmli sample buffer and the 10x8.5cm (3¹⁵/₁₆x3³/₈")cassettes fit standard mini-gel tanks. The BupH* Tris-HEPES-SDS running buffer used with these gels is optimized to provide excellent separation and high-resolution protein bands in approximately 45 minutes. Once the electrophoresis run is completed, gels will stain easily with Coomassie or silver stains. Resulting protein bands can be transferred quickly and efficiently to both nitrocellulose and PVDF membranes for Western blotting.
