Quickly and easily decontaminate samples for SDS-PAGE electrophoresis with this kit. Even high concentrations of detergents that are difficult to remove by standard sample processes can be treated easily with PAGEprep advance kit. It uses a resin of modified diatomaceous earth that binds protein in DMSO in order to allow the contaminating chemicals to be easily washed away. Appropriate samples for use with this kit include samples containing low pH buffers, thiocyante, or urea; proteins precipitated in ammonium sulfate; inclusion bodies solubilized in guanidine hydrochloride; and dilute protein samples. In addition, the kit can also be used to rapidly concentrate dilute protein samples up to 10X, enabling more protein to be loaded per gel lane for more vivid results. If the final protein concentration needs to be quantified, the BCA* protein assay kits (see PI23227 series) are compatible with the included elution buffer and recommended for the most accurate results. The spin cup format is compatible with microcentrifugation, making it easy to decontaminate and concentrate protein samples in less than 20 minutes. Typical yields are 75-85% for most proteins from sample sizes as small as 2µL.
