Universal press utilizes a simple and safe one-person operation and effective screw system to apply up to two tons of force onto the pellet die. The screw's gradual twisting force causes slow and measured pressure to be applied, eliminating uncontrolled pressure jumps that may over-pressurize the pellet with other types of systems.

Press sits on top of a solid 1.3cm (¹/₂") thick aircraft-type aluminum base plate with pockets for dies and screws, while the steel twist bar fits neatly against the tablet press frame. The press and base are portable and can be moved from one table location to another. The base plate is secured with four steel pins that mount 1.3cm (¹/₂") into any laboratory tabletop surface, and can be removed by hand. Press and base plate are completely powder-coated black and will resist most chemicals and abrasive conditions. Stainless steel components allow easy cleaning and require virtually no maintenance.

Universal press is specifically designed to work with intrinsic dissolution apparatus set 97002-386 (sold separately), but will also work with most common intrinsic dissolution apparatus dies, Woods apparatus design, and many other 10.2cm (4") round and square die plates.
