User-friendly, motorized electronic microtome is designed to handle the most demanding laboratory workloads and is excellent for routine wax sections and specialized resin work. It provides high-quality sections without the inconvenience of routine maintenance. Improved blade holder provides greater versatility, productivity, and increased stability while sectioning.

Display monitors a range of functions including cutting speed, section count, section thickness, and advance distance. Arrow keys control specimen advance and rewind. User can instantly switch between trim and section settings. The autoload option automatically resets specimen head to a ready position for quickly changing blocks on high throughput projects. The rock option allows the specimen head to advance by a set amount to trim specimens without turning the hand wheel through full turns. User-selected cutting sector control maximizes throughput by allowing the return stroke to be faster than the optimized cutting stroke.

Microtome also features three cutting modes including continuous cutting. Choose from 11 lanGauges for viewing commands. Unit is equipped with wide, curved arm rests and a precision-response, free-running balanced flywheel. Emergency stop immediately cuts power to the motor. A standby key allows the unit to go into “sleep” mode, which saves the customized parameters in memory. The unit is operational from the front or side positions.

Disposable microtome blade holders 14011-008 and -010 provide consistent reproducible sections. Blade is clamped and fully supported along its entire length for reduction of chatter when sectioning hard tissues. Improved clamping mechanism design significantly reduces wear and enhances reliability. Larger clamp plate allows easier section retrieval. For safer operation, the entire top stage moves laterally with no need to touch or reclamp blade during sectioning. No need to switch to a different knife holder for larger specimens. Disposable blade holders also include a knife angle memory position locator. Solid knife holder 14011-042 accepts commonly used “C” or “D” profile knives and includes a knife angle memory position indicator. Knife guard covers unused part of knife edge and can be closed to fully cover entire knife edge.
