The push of a fingertip locks and unlocks the buckle of these heel grounders. The quick-release, snap-in-place buckle is combined with a strap that fits over the top of the shoe. Standard style has both a strap that slips under the shoe to make contact with the floor and a stretch band that fits around the back to keep a snug fit. The 1-megohm resistor is riveted to the strap that connects the floor contact surface with the 45.7cm (18") silver monofilament conductive tab. Tab is tucked inside the shoe. The outer layer for floor contact is durable, carbon-reinforced rubber; the inner layer contacting the shoe is white insulative rubber.
