Stomacher lab blenders offer fast, reliable blending and homogenizing of laboratory samples through their unique action by which paddles apply pressure to a sample within a sterile, disposable bag. Contents are blended and homogenized, and deep-seated organisms are effectively washed out. Laboratory samples can be collected, transported, processed, and disposed of without handling.
Stomacher 400C: Features a paddle design that produces homogenization through a combination of crushing and stirring. When the door is closed, curved paddles, an island baffle inside the door chamber, and round-bottom Stomacher lab blender bags mold the bag contents into a tubular ring. During operation the paddles crush the sample and circulate the suspended debris and diluent. This model’s features also include one-touch, user-programmable time and speed functions, three paddle speeds, variable time settings from 1 second to 99 minutes and 59 seconds, and auto-run for hands-free operation. Stomacher sample bags are designed with the resiliency necessary to withstand the paddle action of the Stomacher lab blenders. The sterile bags are 65µm (2.5mil) thick polyethylene. Standard bags, suitable for most applications, can be used with all laboratory blenders. Strainer bags, for processing gritty samples that could cause pipet blockage, and closure bags, for sample storage or to prevent sample loss, are available for use with Seward Stomacher Model 400C only.
For optimal results, use circulator bags (round-bottom style) with Seward Stomacher Model 400C and classic bags (square-bottom style) with other paddle blender models.
