The Multitrans System is used for the collection and transportation of viruses, Chlamydia, and mycoplasmas obtained from clinical specimens within a 72 to 96 hour period. The system is intended as an aid in the diagnosis of diseases associated with infectious organisms. The generous amount of medium ensures that the swab is kept under optimum storage conditions. The glass beads aid in the disruption of cell-associated viruses, releasing the viruses into the medium, and increasing the potential for viral recovery. The uniquely designed cap engages the swab and secures it upon reopening. System shelf life is 12 months. No refrigeration is required. (Starplex S160-100)
