Designed for gentle stirring of suspension cell cultures. Especially suited for stirring microcarriers (see 62407-096 series) and for cells with poor attachment rates. Smooth stirring action, even at slowest speeds, is achieved by a specially-formed stirrer rod which moves slowly through cell culture medium in a vessel shaped to correspond with the profile of the rod. Accommodates four vessels of 500mL or 1L.

Soft-start and soft-stop design eliminates cell damage during acceleration and deceleration. Electronic speed control range is 0 to 80rpm. Interval stirring with variable on/off times improves cell attachment rates. No bearings inside culture vessel to grind cells. Vessels can be sealed for use with pathogenic materials.

System uses less than 2W so it will not heat up when placed in an incubator. Stirrer rod is activated by magnetic coupling from rotating magnets under stirrer platform.

Borosilicate glass culture vessels (sold separately) are siliconized and include seals, caps and stirrer rod assembly. Actual volume is approximately twice the nominal working volume. Space-saving design. For 110V, 50/60Hz operation.
