The robust Thermo Scientific Multiskan FC microplate photometer is designed for a wide variety of research and routine applications. The instrument combines the established quality of the Multiskan product line with a large color screen, visual internal software, and multiple lanGauge options to ensure reliable performance and user-friendly operation.
The instrument provides a 340 to 850nm wavelength range, enabling an array of applications from enzyme kinetic studies through Lowry assays. It has an eight-position filter wheel with three standard filters (405, 450, and 620nm) pre-installed. Slow, medium, or fast linear shaking capabilities are standard. Rapid processing allows 96-well plates to be read in under 6 seconds. The optional incubator equipped model allows temperature control up to 50°C (122°F) and the ability to read 384-well plates. The proven optical design, in combination with the auto-calibration procedure that is performed during each measurement, ensures stable and repeatable performance and results. All major instrument functions are internally checked during the start-up procedure. The lamp is automatically shut off when not in use.
The Multiskan FC can be used as a standalone instrument, or under computer control with the advanced Thermo Scientific SkanIt* software. A large color screen combined with simple, logical internal software ensures an easy and intuitive assay setup. The instrument's quick keys provide instant access to the most commonly used protocols. Additionally, the internal software contains qualitative and quantitative calculations for single, dual, and kinetic measurements offering flexible data handling capabilities. Instruments are equipped with USB interfaces for connection to computer and external printer, as well as a USB memory stick position for data export.
