The updated cabinet has inset sides and a steep front for increased user comfort, and a membrane control panel that is user- and glove-friendly. Shortened defrost time allows for higher productivity and efficiency. Manual or automatic defrost is available. Forward and reverse coarse movement of the specimen arm can be done manually or with a motor drive. The control switch for the motor drive can be held down for continuous movement or tapped for a 10mm (¹³/₃₂") advance. The convection-cooled chamber is spacious and contains a large specimen freezing and storage space. Knife safety guard offers operator protection from injury. The microtome accommodates reusable knives or disposable blades.
