Flexible, single-tube instrument is designed as either a luminometer, a fluorometer, or a combination unit that measures luminescence, fluorescence, or absorbance via interchangeable snap-in modules. Units feature a user-friendly touch screen control, which stores up to 18 calibrations and data from 20 measurements. An RS-232 interface allows the unit to automatically export data to a PC or printer.
When the configured with a luminescence module, the unit operates as a luminometer for applications such as luciferase assays, ATP assays, and chemiluminescent immunoassays. The luminometer module accommodates a 1.5mL microcentrifuge tube.
When configured with a fluorescence optical kit module, the unit operates as a fluorometer, measuring in direct-concentration or raw-fluorescence mode for applications such as DNA/RNA quantitation, gene expression assays, enzyme assays, and protein quantitation. Optical kits for fluorescence measurements include a light source, excitation filter, and emission filter. Fluorescence modules accommodate a 10x10mm cuvette or minicell vials, when fitted with the minicell adapter.
When configured with an absorbance module, the unit functions as a photometer suitable for protein-quantitation by Bradford, BCA, or Lowry standard assays. Filter paddles allow selection of wavelength: 560, 600, or 750nm.
