Placed between the pump and sample injection valve, inline solvent filters trap particles released through normal piston seal wear. This prevents valve damage and system contamination from particles being flushed through the capillary tubing to the sample injection valve.
Filter 21511-448 is an ultra-low volume precolumn filter. This filter is placed between the injection valve and the column and is designed to protect the filter at the head of the column from any particulate matter that originates from injection valve rotor seal wear and from the sample. It is specially designed to limit the impact on achieved chromatography results by minimizing the internal volume.
The filters use a 0.5µm or 2µm stainless steel frit with a PEEK* ring to control contaminants before reaching the injection valve. An 8° distribution cone spreads the flow of the mobile phase over the entire surface of the 0.094" diameter x 0.062" frit, while the 0.050" diameter thru-hole allows smooth solvent flow. The inlet and outlet connections are compatible with Upchurch Scientific, Swagelok*, Valco*, and Parker fittings. All materials are Type 316 stainless steel or PEEK.
